ISAIAH 31 4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof. 9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem. ISAIAH 33 14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? JEREMIAH 1 8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. 35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. LUKE 12 4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. LUKE 14 1 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him. 3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? 5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day? LUKE 23 54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. 56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. LUKE 24 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? ROMANS 13 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
