DEUTERONOMY 25 7 And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the GATE unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother. DEUTERONOMY 28 7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and FLEE before thee seven ways. 25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and FLEE seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. JOSHUA 2 5 And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the GATE, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them. 7 And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the GATE. JOSHUA 20 3 That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may FLEE thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood. 4 And when he that doth FLEE unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the GATE of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them. 9 These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might FLEE thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation. JUDGES 4 21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an HAMMER in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. JUDGES 9 35 And Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the entering of the GATE of the city: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that were with him, from lying in wait. 40 And Abimelech chased him, and he fled before him, and many were overthrown and wounded, even unto the entering of the GATE. 44 And Abimelech, and the company that was with him, rushed forward, and stood in the entering of the GATE of the city: and the two other companies ran upon all the people that were in the fields, and slew them.
