ESTHER 8 8 Write ye ALSO for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse. 11 Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for A prey, 13 The copy of the writing for A commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies. 15 And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with A great crown of gold, and with A garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. 17 And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, A feast and A good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them. ESTHER 9 13 Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow ALSO according unto this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged upon the gallows. 15 For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day ALSO of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand. 17 On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it A day of feasting and gladness. 18 But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it A day of feasting and gladness. 19 Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar A day of gladness and feasting, and A good day, and of sending portions one to another. 22 As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into A good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor. ESTHER 10 1 And the king Ahasuerus laid A tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea. JOB 1 1 There was A man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. 3 His substance ALSO was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and A very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east. 6 Now there was A day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came ALSO among them. 8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, A perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? 13 And there was A day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: 14 And there came A messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: 16 While he was yet speaking, there came ALSO another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. 17 While he was yet speaking, there came ALSO another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. 18 While he was yet speaking, there came ALSO another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: 19 And, behold, there came A great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. JOB 2 1 Again there was A day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came ALSO among them to present himself before the LORD. 3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, A perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. 4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that A man hath will he give for his life. 8 And he took him A potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes. 13 So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake A word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great. JOB 3 3 Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is A man child conceived. 5 Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let A cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it. 23 Why is light given to A man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in? JOB 4 12 Now A thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received A little thereof. 15 Then A spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up: 16 It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard A voice, saying, 17 Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall A man be more pure than his maker? JOB 5 25 Thou shalt know ALSO that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth. 26 Thou shalt come to thy grave in A full age, like as A shock of corn cometh in in his season. JOB 6 15 My brethren have dealt deceitfully as A brook, and as the stream of brooks they pass away; 22 Did I say, Bring unto me? or, Give A reward for me of your substance? 27 Yea, ye overwhelm the fatherless, and ye dig A pit for your friend. JOB 7 1 Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days ALSO like the days of an hireling? 2 As A servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work: 6 My days are swifter than A weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope. 12 Am I A sea, or A whale, that thou settest A watch over me? 20 I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as A mark against thee, so that I am A burden to myself? JOB 8 2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like A strong wind? 9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are A shadow:) 14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be A spider's web. 20 Behold, God will not cast away A perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers: JOB 9 2 I know it is so of A truth: but how should man be just with God? 3 If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of A thousand. 11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on ALSO, but I perceive him not. 17 For he breaketh me with A tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause. 19 If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me A time to plead? 20 If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall ALSO prove me perverse. 25 Now my days are swifter than A post: they flee away, they see no good. 32 For he is not A man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. --MORE-- |
