And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto GATH, and unto Ekron. 1 SAMUEL 21 10 And David arose and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to Achish the king of GATH. 12 And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of GATH. 13 And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the GATE, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard. 1 SAMUEL 27 2 And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of GATH. 3 And David dwelt with Achish at GATH, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal's wife. 4 And it was told Saul that David was fled to GATH: and he sought no more again for him. 11 And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to GATH, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines. 2 SAMUEL 1 20 Tell it not in GATH, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph. 2 SAMUEL 3 27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the GATE to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother. 2 SAMUEL 4 4 And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to FLEE, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth. 2 SAMUEL 10 8 And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the GATE: and the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah, were by themselves in the field. 2 SAMUEL 11 23 And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the GATE. 2 SAMUEL 15 2 And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the GATE: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. 14 And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us FLEE; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword. 18 And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from GATH, passed on before the king. 2 SAMUEL 17 2 And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall FLEE; and I will smite the king only: 2 SAMUEL 18 3 But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we FLEE away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that thou succour us out of the city. 4 And the king said unto them, What seemeth you best I will do. And the king stood by the GATE side, and all the people came out by hundreds and by thousands. 24 And David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the GATE unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone. 33 And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the GATE, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son! 2 SAMUEL 19 3 And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they FLEE in battle. 8 Then the king arose, and sat in the GATE.
