NUMBERS 27 1 Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of GILEAD, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah. NUMBERS 32 1 Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of GILEAD, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle; 26 Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of GILEAD: 29 And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of GILEAD for a possession: 39 And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to GILEAD, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which was in it. 40 And Moses gave GILEAD unto Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein. NUMBERS 36 1 And the chief fathers of the families of the children of GILEAD, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel: DEUTERONOMY 2 36 From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto GILEAD, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us: DEUTERONOMY 3 10 All the cities of the plain, and all GILEAD, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 12 And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount GILEAD, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites. 13 And the rest of GILEAD, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants. 15 And I gave GILEAD unto Machir. 16 And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from GILEAD even unto the river Arnon half the valley, and the border even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon; DEUTERONOMY 4 43 Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in GILEAD, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites. DEUTERONOMY 5 24 And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his GLORY and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth. DEUTERONOMY 33 17 His GLORY is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh. DEUTERONOMY 34 1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of GILEAD, unto Dan, JOSHUA 7 19 And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, GLORY to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me. JOSHUA 12 2 Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half GILEAD, even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon; 5 And reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half GILEAD, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon. JOSHUA 13 11 And GILEAD, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah; 25 And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of GILEAD, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah; 31 And half GILEAD, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families. JOSHUA 17 1 There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of GILEAD: because he was a man of war, therefore he had GILEAD and Bashan. 3 But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of GILEAD, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. 5 And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of GILEAD and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan; 6 Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of GILEAD. JOSHUA 20 8 And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in GILEAD out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh. JOSHUA 21 38 And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in GILEAD with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs, JOSHUA 22 9 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of GILEAD, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses. 13 And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of GILEAD, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, 15 And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of GILEAD, and they spake with them, saying, 32 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of GILEAD, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again. JUDGES 5 17 GILEAD abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches. JUDGES 6 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. JUDGES 7 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount GILEAD. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. JUDGES 10 4 And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havothjair unto this day, which are in the land of GILEAD. 8 And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in GILEAD. 17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in GILEAD. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh. 18 And the people and princes of GILEAD said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of GILEAD. JUDGES 11 1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and GILEAD begat Jephthah. 2 And GILEAD's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman. 5 And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of GILEAD went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob: 7 And Jephthah said unto the elders of GILEAD, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress? 8 And the elders of GILEAD said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of GILEAD. 9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of GILEAD, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head? 10 And the elders of GILEAD said unto Jephthah, The LORD be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words. 11 Then Jephthah went with the elders of GILEAD, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD in Mizpeh. 29 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he passed over GILEAD, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of GILEAD, and from Mizpeh of GILEAD he passed over unto the children of Ammon. --MORE-- |
