JOSHUA 22 9 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of GILEAD, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses. 13 And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of GILEAD, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, 15 And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of GILEAD, and they spake with them, saying, 32 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of GILEAD, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again. JUDGES 5 17 GILEAD abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches. JUDGES 6 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. JUDGES 7 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount GILEAD. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. JUDGES 10 4 And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havothjair unto this day, which are in the land of GILEAD. 8 And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in GILEAD. 17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in GILEAD. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh. 18 And the people and princes of GILEAD said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of GILEAD. JUDGES 11 1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and GILEAD begat Jephthah. 2 And GILEAD's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman. 5 And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of GILEAD went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob: 7 And Jephthah said unto the elders of GILEAD, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress? 8 And the elders of GILEAD said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of GILEAD. 9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of GILEAD, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head? 10 And the elders of GILEAD said unto Jephthah, The LORD be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words. 11 Then Jephthah went with the elders of GILEAD, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD in Mizpeh. 29 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he passed over GILEAD, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of GILEAD, and from Mizpeh of GILEAD he passed over unto the children of Ammon. JUDGES 12 4 Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of GILEAD, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of GILEAD smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites. 5 And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of GILEAD said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay; 7 And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of GILEAD. JUDGES 20 1 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of GILEAD, unto the LORD in Mizpeh. 32 And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. Then open the door, and FLEE, and tarry not. 2 KINGS 10 33 From Jordan eastward, all the land of GILEAD, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even GILEAD and Bashan. 2 KINGS 15 29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and GILEAD, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria. 1 CHRONICLES 2 21 And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of GILEAD, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub. 22 And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of GILEAD. 23 And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities.
