And he said, Say on. 15 Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and thy HANDMAID said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his HANDMAID. 16 For the king will hear, to deliver his HANDMAID out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God. 17 Then thine HANDMAID said, The word of my lord the king shall now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD thy God will be with thee. 19 And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine HANDMAID: 2 SAMUEL 15 2 And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the GATE: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And the king stood by the GATE side, and all the people came out by hundreds and by thousands. 24 And David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the GATE unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone. 33 And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the GATE, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son! 2 SAMUEL 19 3 And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they FLEE in battle. 8 Then the king arose, and sat in the GATE. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the GATE. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent. 2 SAMUEL 20 17 And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine HANDMAID. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine HANDMAID. 2 KINGS 7 1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the GATE of Samaria. 3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the GATE: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 17 And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the GATE: and the people trode upon him in the GATE, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him. 18 And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the GATE of Samaria: 20 And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the GATE, and he died. 2 KINGS 9 3 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and FLEE, and tarry not. 31 And as Jehu entered in at the GATE, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master? --MORE-- |
