ISAIAH 62 1 FOR Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and FOR Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. 4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: FOR the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. 5 FOR as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. 8 The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat FOR thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, FOR the which thou hast laboured: 10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard FOR the people. ISAIAH 63 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: FOR I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. 4 FOR the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. 8 FOR he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. 17 O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? ISAIAH 65 1 I am sought of them that asked not FOR me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. 5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; FOR I am holier than thou. ISAIAH 66 2 FOR all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. 5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out FOR my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. 8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? FOR as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. 10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice FOR joy with her, all ye that mourn FOR her: 12 FOR thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. 15 FOR, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. 16 FOR by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. 18 FOR I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. 20 And they shall bring all your brethren FOR an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD. 21 And I will also take of them FOR priests and FOR Levites, saith the LORD. 22 FOR as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: FOR their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. JEREMIAH 1 3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the FIFTH month. 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: FOR I am a child. 7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: FOR thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. 8 Be not afraid of their faces: FOR I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: FOR I will hasten my word to perform it. 15 FOR, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah. 18 FOR, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land. 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; FOR I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee. JEREMIAH 2 10 FOR pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing. 11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory FOR that which doth not profit. 13 FOR my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. 20 FOR of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot. 22 FOR though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD. 25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; FOR I have loved strangers, and after them will I go. 27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: FOR they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. 28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: FOR according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah. 37 Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: FOR the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them. --MORE-- |
