PROVERBS 26
1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for A fool.
3 A whip for the horse, A bridle for the ass, and A rod for the fool's back.
4 Answer not A fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
5 Answer A fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
6 He that sendeth A message by the hand of A fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is A parable in the mouth of fools.
8 As he that bindeth A stone in A sling, so is he that giveth honour to A fool.
9 As A thorn goeth up into the hand of A drunkard, so is A parable in the mouths of fools.
11 As A dog returneth to his vomit, so A fool returneth to his folly.
12 Seest thou A man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of A fool than of him.
13 The slothful man saith, There is A lion in the way; A lion is in the streets.
16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render A reason.
17 He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh A dog by the ears.
18 As A mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is A contentious man to kindle strife.
22 The words of A talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
23 Burning lips and A wicked heart are like A potsherd covered with silver dross.
27 Whoso diggeth A pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth A stone, it will return upon him.
28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and A flattering mouth worketh ruin.
PROVERBS 27
1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what A day may bring forth.
2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips.
3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but A fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
6 Faithful are the wounds of A friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
8 As A bird that wandereth from her nest, so is A man that wandereth from his place.
9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of A man's friend by hearty counsel.
10 Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is A neighbour that is near than A brother far off.
12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
13 Take his garment that is surety for A stranger, and take A pledge of him for A strange woman.
14 He that blesseth his friend with A loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted A curse to him.
15 A continual dropping in A very rainy day and A contentious woman are alike.
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so A man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
21 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is A man to his praise.
22 Though thou shouldest bray A fool in A mortar among wheat with A pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
PROVERBS 28
1 The wicked FLEE when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as A lion.
2 For the transgression of A land many are the princes thereof: but by A man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like A sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
7 Whoso keepeth the law is A wise son: but he that is A companion of riotous men shameth his father.
12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, A man is hidden.
15 As A roaring lion, and A ranging bear; so is A wicked ruler over the poor people.
16 The prince that wanteth understanding is also A great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall FLEE to the pit; let no man stay him.
20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
21 To have respect of persons is not good: for for A piece of bread that man will transgress.
23 He that rebuketh A man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of A destroyer.
25 He that is of A proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is A fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many A curse.
PROVERBS 29
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth A net for his feet.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is A snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
8 Scornful men bring A city into A snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 If A wise man contendeth with A foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but A wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
12 If A ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but A child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Seest thou A man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of A fool than of him.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from A child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and A furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Whoso is partner with A thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
25 The fear of man bringeth A snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
