ISAIAH 56 3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am A dry tree. 5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls A place and A name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. ISAIAH 57 4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye A wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, A seed of falsehood. 6 Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured A drink offering, thou hast offered A meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these? 7 Upon A lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice. 8 Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee A covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it. 15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of A contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. ISAIAH 58 1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like A trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. 2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as A nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. 5 Is it such A fast that I have chosen? A day for A man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as A bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this A fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? 11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like A watered garden, and like A spring of water, whose waters fail not. 13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath A delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: ISAIAH 59 5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into A viper. 15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself A prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. 17 For he put on righteousness as A breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as A cloak. 19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like A flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up A standard against him. ISAIAH 60 8 Who are these that fly as A cloud, and as the doves to their windows? 15 Whereas thou has been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, A joy of many generations. 22 A little one shall become A thousand, and A small one A strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time. ISAIAH 61 10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as A bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as A bride adorneth herself with her jewels. ISAIAH 62 1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as A lamp that burneth. 2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by A new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. 3 Thou shalt also be A crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and A royal diadem in the hand of thy God. 5 For as A young man marrieth A virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. 7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem A praise in the earth. 10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up A standard for the people. 12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken. ISAIAH 63 14 As A beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself A glorious name. 18 The people of thy holiness have possessed it but A little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary. ISAIAH 64 6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as A leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 10 Thy holy cities are A wilderness, Zion is A wilderness, Jerusalem A desolation. ISAIAH 65 1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto A nation that was not called by my name. 2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto A rebellious people, which walketh in A way that was not good, after their own thoughts; 3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; 5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are A smoke in my nose, A fire that burneth all the day. 8 Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for A blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. 9 And I will bring forth A seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. 10 And Sharon shall be A fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor A place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me. 11 But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare A table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. 15 And ye shall leave your name for A curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name: 17 For, behold, I create new heavens and A new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem A rejoicing, and her people A joy. 22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of A tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. ISAIAH 66 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of A contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. 3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew A man; he that sacrificeth A lamb, as if he cut off A dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. 6 A voice of noise from the city, A voice from the temple, A voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies. 7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of A man child. 8 Who hath heard such A thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall A nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. 12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like A river, and the glory of the Gentiles like A flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. 15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like A whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. 19 And I will set A sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. 20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in A clean vessel into the house of the LORD. --MORE-- |
