ACTS 12 7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and A light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. 9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw A vision. 11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of A surety, that the LORD hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews. 13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, A damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. 21 And upon A set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. 22 And the people gave A shout, saying, It is the voice of A god, and not of A man. ACTS 13 6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found A certain sorcerer, A false prophet, A Jew, whose name was Barjesus: 7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, A prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. 11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for A season. And immediately there fell on him A mist and A darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. 21 And afterward they desired A king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, A man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. 22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, A man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. 23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel A Saviour, Jesus: 29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in A sepulchre. 41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work A work in your days, A work which ye shall in no wise believe, though A man declare it unto you. 47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be A light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. ACTS 14 1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that A great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed. 8 And there sat A certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being A cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: 10 Said with A loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. ACTS 15 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that A good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put A yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them A people for his name. 33 And after they had tarried there A space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles. 34 Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to ABIDE there still. ACTS 16 1 Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, A certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of A certain woman, which was A Jewess, and believed; but his father was A Greek: 3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was A Greek. 9 And A vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood A man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. 11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with A straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis; 12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and A colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days. 13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by A river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither. 14 And A certain woman named Lydia, A seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. 15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and ABIDE there. And she constrained us. 16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, A certain damsel possessed with A spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 24 Who, having received such A charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. 26 And suddenly there was A great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. 28 But Paul cried with A loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. 29 Then he called for A light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, ACTS 17 1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was A synagogue of the Jews: 4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks A great multitude, and of the chief women not A few. 5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered A company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. 12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not A few. 15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving A commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed. 18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be A setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. 31 Because he hath appointed A day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. 34 Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and A woman named Damaris, and others with them. ACTS 18 2 And found A certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. 7 And he departed thence, and entered into A certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by A vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: 11 And he continued there A year and six months, teaching the word of God among them. 14 And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were A matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you: 15 But if it be A question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters. 18 And Paul after this tarried there yet A good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had A vow. 24 And A certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. --MORE-- |
