So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem. 15 And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten BEFORE Israel, they gathered themselves together. 16 And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the river: and they came to Helam; and Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went BEFORE them. 18 And the Syrians fled BEFORE Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there. 19 And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten BEFORE Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more. 2 SAMUEL 11 13 And when David had called him, he did eat and drink BEFORE him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house. 2 SAMUEL 12 11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives BEFORE thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. 12 For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing BEFORE all Israel, and BEFORE the sun. 20 Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread BEFORE him, and he did eat. --MORE-- |
