2 SAMUEL 12 9 Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of AMMON. 26 And Joab fought against Rabbah of the children of AMMON, and took the royal city. 31 And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of AMMON. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem. 2 SAMUEL 17 27 And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of AMMON, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim, 1 KINGS 11 7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of AMMON. 33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of AMMON, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father. 2 KINGS 18 18 And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of ASAPH the recorder. 37 Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of ASAPH the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh. 2 KINGS 23 13 And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of AMMON, did the king defile. 2 KINGS 24 2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of AMMON, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets. 1 CHRONICLES 6 39 And his brother ASAPH, who stood on his right hand, even ASAPH the son of Berachiah, the son of Shimea, 1 CHRONICLES 9 15 And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of ASAPH; 1 CHRONICLES 15 17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, ASAPH the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah; 19 So the singers, Heman, ASAPH, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass; 1 CHRONICLES 16 5 ASAPH the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but ASAPH made a sound with cymbals; 7 Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of ASAPH and his brethren. 37 So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD ASAPH and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required: 1 CHRONICLES 18 11 Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of AMMON, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. 1 CHRONICLES 19 1 Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of AMMON died, and his son reigned in his stead. 2 And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of AMMON to Hanun, to comfort him. 3 But the princes of the children of AMMON said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land? 6 And when the children of AMMON saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of AMMON sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syriamaachah, and out of Zobah. 7 So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of AMMON gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle. 9 And the children of AMMON came out, and put the battle in array before the gate of the city: and the kings that were come were by themselves in the field. 11 And the rest of the people he delivered unto the hand of Abishai his brother, and they set themselves in array against the children of AMMON. 12 And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of AMMON be too strong for thee, then I will help thee. 15 And when the children of AMMON saw that the Syrians were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother, and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem. 19 And when the servants of Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they made peace with David, and became his servants: neither would the Syrians help the children of AMMON any more. 1 CHRONICLES 20 1 And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of AMMON, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it. 3 And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of AMMON. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem. 1 CHRONICLES 25 1 Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of ASAPH, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was: 2 Of the sons of ASAPH; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of ASAPH under the hands of ASAPH, which prophesied according to the order of the king. 6 All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king's order to ASAPH, Jeduthun, and Heman. 9 Now the first lot came forth for ASAPH to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve: 1 CHRONICLES 26 1 Concerning the divisions of the porters: Of the Korhites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of ASAPH. 2 CHRONICLES 5 12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of ASAPH, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) 2 CHRONICLES 20 1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of AMMON, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. 10 And now, behold, the children of AMMON and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; 14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of ASAPH, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation; 22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of AMMON, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 23 For the children of AMMON and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. 2 CHRONICLES 27 5 He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of AMMON gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of AMMON pay unto him, both the second year, and the third. 2 CHRONICLES 29 13 And of the sons of Elizaphan; Shimri, and Jeiel: and of the sons of ASAPH; Zechariah, and Mattaniah: 30 Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of ASAPH the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped. 2 CHRONICLES 35 15 And the singers the sons of ASAPH were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and ASAPH, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them. EZRA 2 41 The singers: the children of ASAPH, an hundred twenty and eight. EZRA 3 10 And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of ASAPH with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel. NEHEMIAH 2 8 And a letter unto ASAPH the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. NEHEMIAH 7 44 The singers: the children of ASAPH, an hundred forty and eight. NEHEMIAH 11 13 And his brethren, chief of the fathers, two hundred forty and two: and Amashai the son of Azareel, the son of AHASAI, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer, 17 And Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of ASAPH, was the principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer: and Bakbukiah the second among his brethren, and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun. 22 The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of ASAPH, the singers were over the business of the house of God. --MORE-- |
