1 SAMUEL 17 26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living GOD? 36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living GOD. 45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the GOD of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a GOD in Israel. 1 SAMUEL 18 10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from GOD came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand. 1 SAMUEL 19 20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of GOD was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied. 23 And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of GOD was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah. 1 SAMUEL 20 2 And he said unto him, GOD forbid; thou shalt not die: behold, my father will do nothing either great or small, but that he will shew it me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? it is not so. 12 And Jonathan said unto David, O LORD GOD of Israel, when I have sounded my father about to morrow any time, or the third day, and, behold, if there be good toward David, and I then send not unto thee, and shew it thee; 1 SAMUEL 22 3 And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what GOD will do for me. 13 And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast enquired of GOD for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day? 15 Did I then begin to enquire of GOD for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more. 1 SAMUEL 23 7 And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, GOD hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars. 10 Then said David, O LORD GOD of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake. 11 Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD GOD of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down. 14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but GOD delivered him not into his hand. 16 And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in GOD. 1 SAMUEL 25 22 So and more also do GOD unto the enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. 29 Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy GOD; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling. 32 And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the LORD GOD of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me: 34 For in very deed, as the LORD GOD of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. 1 SAMUEL 26 8 Then said Abishai to David, GOD hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second time. 1 SAMUEL 28 15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and GOD is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do. 1 SAMUEL 29 9 And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of GOD: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle. 1 SAMUEL 30 6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his GOD. 15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by GOD, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company. 2 SAMUEL 2 27 And Joab said, As GOD liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother. 2 SAMUEL 3 9 So do GOD to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him; 35 And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do GOD to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down. 2 SAMUEL 5 10 And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD GOD of hosts was with him. 2 SAMUEL 6 2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of GOD, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims. 3 And they set the ark of GOD upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart. 4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of GOD: and Ahio went before the ark. 6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of GOD, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. 7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and GOD smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of GOD. 12 And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of GOD. So David went and brought up the ark of GOD from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness. 2 SAMUEL 7 2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of GOD dwelleth within curtains. 18 Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto? 19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? 20 And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant. 22 Wherefore thou art great, O LORD GOD: for there is none like thee, neither is there any GOD beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 23 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom GOD went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods? 24 For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their GOD. 25 And now, O LORD GOD, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said. 26 And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the GOD over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee. 27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, GOD of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee. 28 And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that GOD, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: 29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever. 2 SAMUEL 9 3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of GOD unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet. 2 SAMUEL 10 12 Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our GOD: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good. --MORE-- |
