JUDGES 19 5 And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel's father said unto his son in law, Comfort thine HEART with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way. 6 And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel's father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all night, and let thine HEART be merry. 8 And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart; and the damsel's father said, Comfort thine HEART, I pray thee. And they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them. 9 And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel's father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine HEART may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home. 22 Now as they were making their HEARTS merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him. RUTH 3 7 And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his HEART was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down. 1 SAMUEL 1 8 Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy HEART grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons? 13 Now Hannah, she spake in her HEART; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. 1 SAMUEL 2 1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My HEART rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. 33 And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine HEART: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age. 35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine HEART and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever. 1 SAMUEL 4 13 And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching: for his HEART trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city, and told it, all the city cried out. 1 SAMUEL 6 6 Wherefore then do ye harden your HEARTS, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their HEARTS? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed? 1 SAMUEL 7 3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your HEARTS, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your HEARTS unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. 1 SAMUEL 9 19 And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine HEART. 1 SAMUEL 10 9 And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another HEART: and all those signs came to pass that day. 26 And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose HEARTS God had touched. 1 SAMUEL 12 20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your HEART; 24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your HEART: for consider how great things he hath done for you. 1 SAMUEL 13 14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own HEART, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee. 1 SAMUEL 14 7 And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine HEART: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy HEART. 1 SAMUEL 16 7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the HEART. 1 SAMUEL 17 28 And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine HEART; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle. 32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's HEART fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. 1 SAMUEL 21 12 And David laid up these words in his HEART, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath. 1 SAMUEL 24 5 And it came to pass afterward, that David's HEART smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt. 1 SAMUEL 25 31 That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of HEART unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine handmaid. 36 And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's HEART was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light. 37 But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his HEART died within him, and he became as a stone. 1 SAMUEL 27 1 And David said in his HEART, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand. 1 SAMUEL 28 5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his HEART greatly trembled. 2 SAMUEL 3 21 And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine HEART desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace. 2 SAMUEL 6 16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her HEART. 2 SAMUEL 7 3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine HEART; for the LORD is with thee. 21 For thy word's sake, and according to thine own HEART, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. 27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his HEART to pray this prayer unto thee. 2 SAMUEL 13 28 Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon's HEART is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant. 33 Now therefore let not my lord the king take the thing to his HEART, to think that all the king's sons are dead: for Amnon only is dead. 2 SAMUEL 14 1 Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king's HEART was toward Absalom. 2 SAMUEL 15 6 And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the HEARTS of the men of Israel. 13 And there came a messenger to David, saying, The HEARTS of the men of Israel are after Absalom. 2 SAMUEL 17 10 And he also that is valiant, whose HEART is as the HEART of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men. 2 SAMUEL 18 14 Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the HEART of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak. 2 SAMUEL 19 14 And he bowed the HEART of all the men of Judah, even as the HEART of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants. 19 And said unto the king, Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me, neither do thou remember that which thy servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his HEART. 2 SAMUEL 22 2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my FORTRESS, and my deliverer; 2 SAMUEL 24 10 And David's HEART smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. 1 KINGS 2 4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their HEART and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel. 44 The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine HEART is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head; 1 KINGS 3 6 And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of HEART with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. 9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding HEART to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? 12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding HEART; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. --MORE-- |
