ISAIAH 10 9 Is not Calno AS Carchemish? is not Hamath AS Arpad? is not Samaria AS Damascus? 10 AS my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria; 11 Shall I not, AS I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols? 14 And my hand hath found AS a nest the riches of the people: and AS one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped. 15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? AS if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or AS if the staff should lift up itself, AS if it were no wood. 18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be AS when a standard-bearer fainteth. 20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such AS are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. 22 For though thy people Israel be AS the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. 26 And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and AS his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt. 32 AS yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem. ISAIAH 11 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, AS the waters cover the sea. 16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like AS it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt. ISAIAH 13 4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like AS of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle. 6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come AS a destruction from the Almighty. 8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain AS a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be AS flames. 14 And it shall be AS the chased roe, and AS a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land. 17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and AS for gold, they shall not delight in it. 19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be AS when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. ISAIAH 14 10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak AS we? art thou become like unto us? 17 That made the world AS a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? 19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and AS the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; AS a carcase trodden under feet. 24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely AS I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and AS I have purposed, so shall it stand: ISAIAH 16 2 For it shall be, that, AS a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon. 3 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow AS the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth. 14 But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, AS the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble. ISAIAH 17 3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be AS the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts. 5 And it shall be AS when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be AS he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim. 6 Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, AS the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel. 9 In that day shall his strong cities be AS a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation. 13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased AS the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. ISAIAH 19 14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, AS a drunken man staggereth in his vomit. ISAIAH 20 3 And the LORD said, Like AS my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia; ISAIAH 21 1 The burden of the desert of the sea. AS whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land. 3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, AS the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it. ISAIAH 22 16 What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, AS he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock? 23 And I will fasten him AS a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house. ISAIAH 23 5 AS at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre. 10 Pass through thy land AS a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength. 15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing AS an harlot. ISAIAH 24 2 And it shall be, AS with the people, so with the priest; AS with the servant, so with his master; AS with the maid, so with her mistress; AS with the buyer, so with the seller; AS with the lender, so with the borrower; AS with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. 13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be AS the shaking of an olive tree, and AS the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done. 22 And they shall be gathered together, AS prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited. ISAIAH 25 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is AS a storm against the wall. 5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, AS the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low. 10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even AS straw is trodden down for the dunghill. 11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, AS he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands. ISAIAH 26 17 Like AS a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD. 18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have AS it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen. 19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is AS the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. 20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself AS it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. --MORE-- |
