GENESIS 22 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for A burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and A knife; and they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for A burnt offering? 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself A lamb for A burnt offering: so they went both of them together. 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him A ram caught in A thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for A burnt offering in the stead of his son. GENESIS 23 4 I am A stranger and A sojourner with you: give me A possession of A buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight. 6 Hear us, my lord: thou art A mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead. 9 That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for A possession of A buryingplace amongst you. 18 Unto Abraham for A possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city. 20 And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for A possession of A buryingplace by the sons of Heth. And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took A vail, and covered herself. GENESIS 25 1 Then again Abraham took A wife, and her name was Keturah. 8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in A good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. 27 And the boys grew: and Esau was A cunning hunter, A man of the field; and Jacob was A plain man, dwelling in tents. GENESIS 26 1 And there was A famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto ABIMELECH king of the Philistines unto Gerar. 8 And it came to pass, when he had been there A long time, that ABIMELECH king of the Philistines looked out at A window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. 9 And ABIMELECH called Isaac, and said, Behold, of A surety she is thy wife; and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her. 10 And ABIMELECH said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us. 11 And ABIMELECH charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death. 16 And ABIMELECH said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. 19 And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there A well of springing water. 25 And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged A well. 26 Then ABIMELECH went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army. 28 And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make A covenant with thee; 30 And he made them A feast, and they did eat and drink. 35 Which were A grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah. GENESIS 27 11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is A hairy man, and I am A smooth man: 12 My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as A deceiver; and I shall bring A curse upon me, and not A blessing. 27 And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of A field which the LORD hath blessed: 34 And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with A great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father. 36 And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved A blessing for me? 44 And tarry with him A few days, until thy brother's fury turn away; 46 And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take A wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me? GENESIS 28 1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take A wife of the daughters of Canaan. 2 Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee A wife from thence of the daughers of Laban thy mother's brother. 3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be A multitude of people; 4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art A stranger, which God gave unto Abraham. 6 When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him A wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him A charge, saying, Thou shalt not take A wife of the daughers of Canaan; 11 And he lighted upon A certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. 12 And he dreamed, and behold A ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. 18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for A pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. 20 And Jacob vowed A vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, 22 And this stone, which I have set for A pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. --MORE-- |
