GENESIS 27 5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt FOR venison, and to bring it. 9 Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat FOR thy father, such as he loveth: 36 And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? FOR he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing FOR me? 37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him FOR servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son? 41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning FOR my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. GENESIS 31 12 And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: FOR I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee. 14 And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance FOR us in our father's house? 15 Are we not counted of him strangers? FOR he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money. 16 FOR all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children's: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do. 18 And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, FOR to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan. 31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was AFRAID: FOR I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me. 32 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. FOR Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them. 35 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; FOR the custom of women is upon me. And he searched but found not the images. 41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years FOR thy two daughters, and six years FOR thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times. 44 Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be FOR a witness between me and thee. 45 And Jacob took a stone, and set it up FOR a pillar. 49 And Mizpah; FOR he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another. 52 This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, FOR harm. EXODUS 9 2 FOR if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still, 11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; FOR the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians. 14 FOR I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth. 15 FOR now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth. 16 And in very deed FOR this cause have I raised thee up, FOR to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. 19 Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; FOR upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die. 27 And Pharaoh sent, and called FOR Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. 28 Intreat the LORD (FOR it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer. 30 But as FOR thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God. 31 And the flax and the barley was smitten: FOR the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled. 32 But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: FOR they were not grown up. EXODUS 14 3 FOR Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in. 10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore AFRAID: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? FOR it had been better FOR us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: FOR the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more FOR ever. 14 The LORD shall fight FOR you, and ye shall hold your peace. 25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; FOR the LORD fighteth FOR them against the Egyptians. EXODUS 21 2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free FOR nothing. 6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him FOR ever. 19 If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay FOR the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed. 21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: FOR he is his money. 23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life FOR life, 24 Eye FOR eye, tooth FOR tooth, hand FOR hand, foot FOR foot, 25 Burning FOR burning, wound FOR wound, stripe FOR stripe. 26 And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free FOR his eye's sake. 27 And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free FOR his tooth's sake. 30 If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give FOR the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him. 36 Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox FOR ox; and the dead shall be his own. LEVITICUS 26 1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: FOR I am the LORD your God. 6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you AFRAID: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. 9 FOR I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. 16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, FOR your enemies shall eat it. 18 And if ye will not yet FOR all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more FOR your sins. 20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: FOR your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits. 24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times FOR your sins. 27 And if ye will not FOR all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; 28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times FOR your sins. 44 And yet FOR all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: FOR I am the LORD their God. 45 But I will FOR their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD. --MORE-- |
