DEUTERONOMY 26 4 And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the ALTAR of the LORD thy God. DEUTERONOMY 27 5 And there shalt thou build an ALTAR unto the LORD thy God, an ALTAR of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them. 6 Thou shalt build the ALTAR of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God: DEUTERONOMY 33 10 They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine ALTAR. JOSHUA 6 5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down FLAT, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him. 20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down FLAT, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. JOSHUA 8 30 Then Joshua built an ALTAR unto the LORD God of Israel in mount Ebal, 31 As Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an ALTAR of whole stones, over which no man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings. JOSHUA 9 27 And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the ALTAR of the LORD, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose. JOSHUA 22 10 And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an ALTAR by Jordan, a great ALTAR to see to. 11 And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an ALTAR over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel. 16 Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an ALTAR, that ye might rebel this day against the LORD? 19 Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an ALTAR beside the ALTAR of the LORD our God. 23 That we have built us an ALTAR to turn from following the LORD, or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meat offering, or if to offer peace offerings thereon, let the LORD himself require it; 26 Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an ALTAR, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice: 28 Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the ALTAR of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you. 29 God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the LORD, to build an ALTAR for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the ALTAR of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle. 34 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the ALTAR Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God. JUDGES 6 24 Then Gideon built an ALTAR there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. 25 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the ALTAR of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: 26 And build an ALTAR unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down. 28 And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the ALTAR of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the ALTAR that was built. 30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the ALTAR of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it. 31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his ALTAR. 32 Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his ALTAR. 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. JUDGES 13 20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the ALTAR, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the ALTAR. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. JUDGES 21 4 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people rose early, and built there an ALTAR, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. 1 SAMUEL 2 28 And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine ALTAR, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel? 33 And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine ALTAR, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age. 1 SAMUEL 7 17 And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an ALTAR unto the LORD. 1 SAMUEL 14 35 And Saul built an ALTAR unto the LORD: the same was the first ALTAR that he built unto the LORD. 2 SAMUEL 24 18 And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an ALTAR unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite. 21 And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an ALTAR unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people. 25 And David built there an ALTAR unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel. 1 KINGS 1 50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR. 51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword. 53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the ALTAR. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to thine house. 1 KINGS 2 28 Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR. 29 And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the ALTAR. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him. 1 KINGS 3 4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that ALTAR. 1 KINGS 6 20 And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the ALTAR which was of cedar. 22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole ALTAR that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold. 1 KINGS 7 48 And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the ALTAR of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the shewbread was, 1 KINGS 8 22 And Solomon stood before the ALTAR of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven: 31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine ALTAR in this house: 54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the ALTAR of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven. 64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen ALTAR that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings. --MORE-- |
