HABAKKUK 2 3 FOR the vision is yet FOR an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait FOR it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. 7 Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be FOR booties unto them? 8 Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and FOR the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein. 11 FOR the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it. 13 Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves FOR very vanity? 14 FOR the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. 16 Thou art filled with shame FOR glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD's right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory. 17 FOR the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts, which made them afraid, because of men's blood, and FOR the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein. HABAKKUK 3 13 Thou wentest forth FOR the salvation of thy people, even FOR salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah. ZEPHANIAH 1 6 And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired FOR him. 7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: FOR the day of the LORD is at hand: FOR the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. 11 Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, FOR all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: FOR he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land. ZEPHANIAH 2 4 FOR Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up. 6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages FOR shepherds, and folds FOR flocks. 7 And the coast shall be FOR the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: FOR the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity. 10 This shall they have FOR their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts. 11 The LORD will be terrible unto them: FOR he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen. 14 And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds; FOR he shall uncover the cedar work. 15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place FOR beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand. ZEPHANIAH 3 8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: FOR my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: FOR all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. 9 FOR then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent. 11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed FOR all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: FOR then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain. 13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: FOR they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid. 18 I will gather them that are sorrowful FOR the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden. 20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: FOR I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD. HAGGAI 1 4 Is it time FOR you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? 9 Ye looked FOR much, and, lo it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. 11 And I called FOR a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands. HAGGAI 2 4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: FOR I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts: 6 FOR thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; 16 Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat FOR to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty. 23 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: FOR I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts. ZECHARIAH 1 5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live FOR ever? 14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous FOR Jerusalem and FOR Zion with a great jealousy. 15 And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: FOR I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. ZECHARIAH 2 4 And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls FOR the multitude of men and cattle therein: 5 FOR I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. 6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: FOR I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. 8 FOR thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: FOR he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. 9 FOR, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me. 10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: FOR, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. 13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: FOR he is raised up out of his holy habitation. ZECHARIAH 3 8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: FOR they are men wondered at: FOR, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. 9 FOR behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. ZECHARIAH 4 10 FOR who hath despised the day of small things? FOR they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth. ZECHARIAH 5 3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: FOR every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it. 9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; FOR they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. ZECHARIAH 6 14 And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, FOR a memorial in the temple of the LORD. ZECHARIAH 7 6 And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat FOR yourselves, and drink FOR yourselves? 14 But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: FOR they laid the pleasant land desolate. --MORE-- |
