GENESIS 17 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be ABRAHAM; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 9 And God said unto ABRAHAM, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. 15 And God said unto ABRAHAM, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. 17 Then ABRAHAM fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? 18 And ABRAHAM said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! 22 And he left off talking with him, and God went up from ABRAHAM. 23 And ABRAHAM took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of ABRAHAM's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him. 24 And ABRAHAM was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 26 In the selfsame day was ABRAHAM circumcised, and Ishmael his son. GENESIS 18 6 And ABRAHAM hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. 7 And ABRAHAM ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. 11 Now ABRAHAM and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. 13 And the LORD said unto ABRAHAM, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was AFRAID. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh. 16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and ABRAHAM went with them to bring them on the way. 17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from ABRAHAM that thing which I do; 18 Seeing that ABRAHAM shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon ABRAHAM that which he hath spoken of him. 22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but ABRAHAM stood yet before the LORD. 23 And ABRAHAM drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 27 And ABRAHAM answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the LORD, which am but dust and ashes: 33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with ABRAHAM: and ABRAHAM returned unto his place. GENESIS 19 2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will ABIDE in the street all night. 27 And ABRAHAM gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD: 29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered ABRAHAM, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt. GENESIS 20 1 And ABRAHAM journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. 2 And ABRAHAM said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. 8 Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore AFRAID. 9 Then Abimelech called ABRAHAM, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done. 10 And Abimelech said unto ABRAHAM, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing? 11 And ABRAHAM said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake. 14 And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto ABRAHAM, and restored him Sarah his wife. 17 So ABRAHAM prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children. 18 For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah ABRAHAM's wife. GENESIS 21 2 For Sarah conceived, and bare ABRAHAM a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3 And ABRAHAM called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. 4 And ABRAHAM circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. 5 And ABRAHAM was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. 7 And she said, Who would have said unto ABRAHAM, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age. 8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and ABRAHAM made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. 9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto ABRAHAM, mocking. 10 Wherefore she said unto ABRAHAM, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. 11 And the thing was very grievous in ABRAHAM's sight because of his son. 12 And God said unto ABRAHAM, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. 14 And ABRAHAM rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba. 22 And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto ABRAHAM, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest: 24 And ABRAHAM said, I will swear. 25 And ABRAHAM reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away. 27 And ABRAHAM took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant. 28 And ABRAHAM set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves. 29 And Abimelech said unto ABRAHAM, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves? 33 And ABRAHAM planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God. 34 And ABRAHAM sojourned in the Philistines' land many days. --MORE-- |
