Searching for: AM,AMNON
2 SAMUEL 13 1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and AMNON the son of David loved her. 2 And AMNON was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and AMNON thought it hard for him to do anything to her. 3 But AMNON had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man. 4 And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king's son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And AMNON said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister. 6 So AMNON lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, AMNON said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand. 7 Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother AMNON's house, and dress him meat. 8 So Tamar went to her brother AMNON's house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes. 9 And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And AMNON said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him. 10 And AMNON said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to AMNON her brother. 15 Then AMNON hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And AMNON said unto her, Arise, be gone. 20 And Absalom her brother said unto her, Hath AMNON thy brother been with thee? but hold now thy peace, my sister: he is thy brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom's house. 22 And Absalom spake unto his brother AMNON neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated AMNON, because he had forced his sister Tamar. 26 Then said Absalom, If not, I pray thee, let my brother AMNON go with us. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with thee? 27 But Absalom pressed him, that he let AMNON and all the king's sons go with him. 28 Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when AMNON's heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite AMNON; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant. 29 And the servants of Absalom did unto AMNON as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king's sons arose, and every man gat him up upon his mule, and fled. 32 And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king's sons; for AMNON only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar. 33 Now therefore let not my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king's sons are dead: for AMNON only is dead. 39 And the soul of king David longed to go forth unto Absalom: for he was comforted concerning AMNON, seeing he was dead. 2 SAMUEL 14 5 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, I AM indeed a widow woman, and mine husband is dead. 15 Now therefore that I AM come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid. 32 And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore AM I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me. 2 SAMUEL 15 26 But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here AM I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him. 2 SAMUEL 19 20 For thy servant doth know that I have sinned: therefore, behold, I AM come the first this day of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king. 22 And David said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah, that ye should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I AM this day king over Israel? 35 I AM this day fourscore years old: and can I discern between good and evil? can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king? 2 SAMUEL 20 17 And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I AM he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear. 19 I AM one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD? 2 SAMUEL 24 14 And David said unto Gad, I AM in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. 1 KINGS 3 7 And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I AM but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. 1 KINGS 8 20 And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I AM risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 1 KINGS 13 14 And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I AM. 18 He said unto him, I AM a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him. 31 And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spake to his sons, saying, When I AM dead, then bury me in the sepulchre wherein the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones: 1 KINGS 14 6 And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I AM sent to thee with heavy tidings. 1 KINGS 17 12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I AM gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. 1 KINGS 18 8 And he answered him, I AM: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here. 12 And it shall come to pass, as soon as I AM gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth. 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I AM thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. 1 KINGS 19 4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I AM not better than my fathers. 10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, AM left; and they seek my life, to take it away. 14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, AM left; and they seek my life, to take it away. 1 KINGS 20 4 And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I AM thine, and all that I have. 13 And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I AM the LORD. 28 And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I AM the LORD. 1 KINGS 22 4 And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I AM as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. 34 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I AM wounded. 2 KINGS 2 10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I AM taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. 2 KINGS 3 7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I AM as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses. 2 KINGS 5 7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, AM I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me. --MORE-- |
