JOHN 12 2 There they made him A supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. 3 Then took Mary A pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was A thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. 14 And Jesus, when he had found A young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except A corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 28 Father, glorify thy name. JOHN 13 4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took A towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into A bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the SCRIPTURE may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. 26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give A sop, when I have dipped it. JOHN 16 16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, A little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. 17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, A little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? 18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith. 19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, A little while, and ye shall see me? 21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that A man is born into the world. JOHN 17 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the SCRIPTURE might be fulfilled. JOHN 18 1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was A garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. 3 Judas then, having received A band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons. 10 Then Simon Peter having A sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. 18 And the servants and officers stood there, who had made A fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself. 30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not A malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee. 35 Pilate answered, Am I A Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou A king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am A king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. 39 But ye have A custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was A robber. JOHN 19 2 And the soldiers platted A crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him A purple robe, 7 The Jews answered him, We have A law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. 12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself A king speaketh against Caesar. 13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in A place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha. 17 And he bearing his cross went forth into A place called the place of A skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: 19 And Pilate wrote A title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. 23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier A part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. 24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the SCRIPTURE might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. 28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the SCRIPTURE might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 29 Now there was set A vessel full of vinegar: and they filled A spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. 34 But one of the soldiers with A spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. 36 For these things were done, that the SCRIPTURE should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. 37 And again another SCRIPTURE saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced. 38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being A disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus. 39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought A mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. 41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was A garden; and in the garden A new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. --MORE-- |
