1 CHRONICLES 23 13 The sons of Amram; AARON and Moses: and AARON was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever. 28 Because their office was to wait on the sons of AARON for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God; 32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of AARON their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD. 1 CHRONICLES 24 1 Now these are the divisions of the sons of AARON. The sons of AARON; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 10 The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to ABIJAH, 19 These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under AARON their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him. 31 These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of AARON in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren. 2 CHRONICLES 11 20 And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him ABIJAH, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith. 22 And Rehoboam made ABIJAH the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king. 2 CHRONICLES 12 16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and ABIJAH his son reigned in his stead. 2 CHRONICLES 13 1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began ABIJAH to reign over Judah. 2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between ABIJAH and Jeroboam. 3 And ABIJAH set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour. 4 And ABIJAH stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel; 9 Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of AARON, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods. 10 But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of AARON, and the Levites wait upon their business: 15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before ABIJAH and Judah. 17 And ABIJAH and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men. 19 And ABIJAH pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephraim with the towns thereof. 20 Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of ABIJAH: and the LORD struck him, and he died. 21 But ABIJAH waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters. 22 And the rest of the acts of ABIJAH, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo. 2 CHRONICLES 14 1 So ABIJAH slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years. 2 CHRONICLES 26 18 And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of AARON, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God. 2 CHRONICLES 29 1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was ABIJAH, the daughter of Zechariah. 21 And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of AARON to offer them on the altar of the LORD. 2 CHRONICLES 31 19 Also of the sons of AARON the priests, which were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every several city, the men that were expressed by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogies among the Levites. 2 CHRONICLES 35 14 And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of AARON were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of AARON. EZRA 7 5 The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of AARON the chief priest: NEHEMIAH 10 7 Meshullam, ABIJAH, Mijamin, 38 And the priest the son of AARON shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house. NEHEMIAH 12 4 Iddo, Ginnetho, ABIJAH, 17 Of ABIJAH, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai: 47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of AARON.
