GENESIS 49 6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: FOR in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. 7 Cursed be their anger, FOR it was fierce; and their wrath, FOR it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. 13 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be FOR an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon. 18 I have waited FOR thy salvation, O LORD. 24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty GOD of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) 25 Even by the GOD of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: 30 In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite FOR a possession of a buryingplace. GENESIS 50 3 And forty days were fulfilled FOR him; FOR so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned FOR him threescore and ten days. 5 My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged FOR me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again. 10 And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning FOR his father seven days. 13 FOR his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field FOR a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre. 17 So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; FOR they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the GOD of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. 19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: FOR am I in the place of GOD? 20 But as FOR you, ye thought evil against me; but GOD meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. 24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and GOD will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, GOD will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. EXODUS 1 5 And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: FOR Joseph was in Egypt already. 11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built FOR Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. 17 But the midwives feared GOD, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive. 18 And the king of Egypt called FOR the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive? 19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; FOR they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them. 20 Therefore GOD dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty. 21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared GOD, that he made them houses. EXODUS 2 3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took FOR him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. 7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child FOR thee? 9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it FOR me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it. 19 And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough FOR us, and watered the flock. 22 And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: FOR he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land. 23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto GOD by reason of the bondage. 24 And GOD heard their groaning, and GOD remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 And GOD looked upon the children of Israel, and GOD had respect unto them. EXODUS 3 1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of GOD, even to Horeb. 4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, GOD called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, FOR the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. 6 Moreover he said, I am the GOD of thy father, the GOD of Abraham, the GOD of Isaac, and the GOD of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; FOR he was afraid to look upon GOD. 7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; FOR I know their sorrows; 11 And Moses said unto GOD, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? 12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve GOD upon this mountain. 13 And Moses said unto GOD, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The GOD of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And GOD said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And GOD said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD GOD of your fathers, the GOD of Abraham, the GOD of Isaac, and the GOD of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name FOR ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. 16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD GOD of your fathers, the GOD of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt: 18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD GOD of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our GOD. EXODUS 4 1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: FOR they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. 5 That they may believe that the LORD GOD of their fathers, the GOD of Abraham, the GOD of Isaac, and the GOD of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee. 16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of GOD. 19 And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: FOR all the men are dead which sought thy life. 20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of GOD in his hand. 27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of GOD, and kissed him. EXODUS 5 1 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD GOD of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. 3 And they said, The GOD of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our GOD; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword. 7 Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw FOR themselves. 8 And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: FOR they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our GOD. 18 Go therefore now, and work; FOR there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks. 23 FOR since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all. --MORE-- |
