PSALM 36 1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of GOD before his eyes. 2 FOR he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. 7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O GOD! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. 9 FOR with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. PSALM 38 2 FOR thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore. 4 FOR mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy FOR me. 7 FOR my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. 10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as FOR the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. 12 They also that seek after my life lay snares FOR me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. 15 FOR in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my GOD. 16 FOR I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me. 17 FOR I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. 18 FOR I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry FOR my sin. 20 They also that render evil FOR good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is. 21 Forsake me not, O LORD: O my GOD, be not far from me. PSALM 39 7 And now, Lord, what wait I FOR? my hope is in thee. 11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man FOR iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah. 12 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: FOR I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. PSALM 40 1 I waited patiently FOR the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our GOD: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. 5 Many, O LORD my GOD, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. 8 I delight to do thy will, O my GOD: yea, thy law is within my heart. 12 FOR innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. 15 Let them be desolate FOR a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha. 17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my GOD. PSALM 41 4 I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; FOR I have sinned against thee. 12 And as FOR me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face FOR ever. 13 Blessed be the LORD GOD of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen. PSALM 42 1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O GOD. 2 My soul thirsteth FOR GOD, FOR the living GOD: when shall I come and appear before GOD? 3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy GOD? 4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: FOR I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of GOD, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. 5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in GOD: FOR I shall yet praise him FOR the help of his countenance. 6 O my GOD, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. 8 Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the GOD of my life. 9 I will say unto GOD my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy GOD? 11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in GOD: FOR I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my GOD. --MORE-- |
