And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of GOD. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear GOD, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; FOR we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified GOD, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. 51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited FOR the kingdom of GOD. LUKE 24 19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before GOD and all the people: 29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: FOR it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; FOR a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 41 And while they yet believed not FOR joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing GOD. Amen. JOHN 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with GOD, and the Word was GOD. 2 The same was in the beginning with GOD. 6 There was a man sent from GOD, whose name was John. 7 The same came FOR a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of GOD, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of GOD. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: FOR he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace FOR grace. 17 FOR the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man hath seen GOD at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. 29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of GOD, which taketh away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: FOR he was before me. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of GOD. 36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of GOD! 39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: FOR it was about the tenth hour. 49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of GOD; thou art the King of Israel. 51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of GOD ascending and descending upon the Son of man. --MORE-- |
