8 (FOR his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? FOR the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of GOD, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
18 FOR thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: FOR salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: FOR the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 GOD is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting FOR the moving of the water.
4 FOR an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful FOR thee to carry thy bed.
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: FOR Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that GOD was his Father, making himself equal with GOD.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: FOR what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 FOR the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 FOR as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 FOR the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of GOD: and they that hear shall live.
26 FOR as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
28 Marvel not at this: FOR the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

6 And this he said to prove him: FOR he himself knew what he would do.

1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: FOR he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.
4 FOR there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.
5 FOR neither did his brethren believe in him.
8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: FOR my time is not yet full come.
12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: FOR some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
13 Howbeit no man spake openly of him FOR fear of the Jews.
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of GOD, or whether I speak of myself.
29 But I know him: FOR I am from him, and he hath sent me.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: FOR the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
