JUDGES 10 6 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of AMMON, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him. 7 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of AMMON. 9 Moreover the children of AMMON passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed. 11 And the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of AMMON, and from the Philistines? 17 Then the children of AMMON were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh. 18 And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of AMMON? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead. JUDGES 11 4 And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of AMMON made war against Israel. 5 And it was so, that when the children of AMMON made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob: 6 And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of AMMON. 8 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of AMMON, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead. 9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of AMMON, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head? 12 And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of AMMON, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come against me to fight in my land? 13 And the king of the children of AMMON answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those lands again peaceably. 14 And Jephthah sent messengers again unto the king of the children of AMMON: 15 And said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah, Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of AMMON: 27 Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: the LORD the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of AMMON. 28 Howbeit the king of the children of AMMON hearkened not unto the words of Jephthah which he sent him. 29 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of AMMON. 30 And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of AMMON into mine hands, 31 Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of AMMON, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering. 32 So Jephthah passed over unto the children of AMMON to fight against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hands. 33 And he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very great slaughter. Thus the children of AMMON were subdued before the children of Israel. 36 And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of AMMON. JUDGES 12 1 And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of AMMON, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire. 2 And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of AMMON; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands. 3 And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of AMMON, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me? JUDGES 13 11 And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I AM. JUDGES 17 9 And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I AM a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place. JUDGES 18 4 And he said unto them, Thus and thus dealeth Micah with me, and hath hired me, and I AM his priest. JUDGES 19 18 And he said unto him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from thence AM I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I AM now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receiveth me to house. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I AM after thee. And he said, I will redeem it. 1 SAMUEL 1 8 Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? AM not I better to thee than ten sons? 15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I AM a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. 26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I AM the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD. 1 SAMUEL 3 4 That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here AM I. 5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here AM I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. 6 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here AM I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. 8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here AM I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. 16 Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here AM I. 1 SAMUEL 4 16 And the man said unto Eli, I AM he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son? 1 SAMUEL 9 19 And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I AM the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart. 21 And Saul answered and said, AM not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me? 1 SAMUEL 12 2 And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I AM old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day. 3 Behold, here I AM: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you. 12 And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of AMMON came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king. 1 SAMUEL 14 7 And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I AM with thee according to thy heart. 47 So Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children of AMMON, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed them. --MORE-- |
