ISAIAH 65 7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, SAITH the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom. 8 Thus SAITH the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one SAITH, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. 13 Therefore thus SAITH the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, SAITH the LORD. ISAIAH 66 1 Thus SAITH the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, SAITH the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. 9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? SAITH the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? SAITH thy God. 12 For thus SAITH the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. 17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, SAITH the LORD. 20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, SAITH the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD. 21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, SAITH the LORD. 22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, SAITH the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, SAITH the LORD. JEREMIAH 1 8 Be not AFRAID of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, SAITH the LORD. 15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, SAITH the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah. 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, SAITH the LORD, to deliver thee. JEREMIAH 2 2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus SAITH the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown. 3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, SAITH the LORD. 5 Thus SAITH the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? 9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, SAITH the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead. 12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly AFRAID, be ye very desolate, SAITH the LORD. 19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, SAITH the Lord GOD of hosts. 22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, SAITH the Lord GOD. 29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, SAITH the LORD. JEREMIAH 3 1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, SAITH the LORD. 10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, SAITH the LORD. 12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, SAITH the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, SAITH the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever. 13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, SAITH the LORD. 14 Turn, O backsliding children, SAITH the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: 16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, SAITH the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more. 20 Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, SAITH the LORD. JEREMIAH 4 1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, SAITH the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove. 3 For thus SAITH the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. 9 And it shall come to pass at that day, SAITH the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder. 17 As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, SAITH the LORD. JEREMIAH 5 9 Shall I not visit for these things? SAITH the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? 11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, SAITH the LORD. 14 Wherefore thus SAITH the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. 15 Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, SAITH the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say. 18 Nevertheless in those days, SAITH the LORD, I will not make a full end with you. 22 Fear ye not me? SAITH the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? 29 Shall I not visit for these things? SAITH the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? JEREMIAH 6 9 Thus SAITH the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets. 12 And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, SAITH the LORD. 15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, SAITH the LORD. 16 Thus SAITH the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. 21 Therefore thus SAITH the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish. 22 Thus SAITH the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth. JEREMIAH 7 3 Thus SAITH the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. 11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, SAITH the LORD. 13 And now, because ye have done all these works, SAITH the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; 19 Do they provoke me to anger? SAITH the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? 20 Therefore thus SAITH the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched. 21 Thus SAITH the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. 30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, SAITH the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it. 32 Therefore, behold, the days come, SAITH the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place. --MORE-- |
