1 CHRONICLES 26 1 Concerning the divisions of the PORTERS: Of the Korhites was Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph. 12 Among these were the divisions of the PORTERS, even among the chief men, having wards one against another, to minister in the house of the LORD. 19 These are the divisions of the PORTERS among the sons of Kore, and among the sons of Merari. 2 CHRONICLES 8 14 And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the PORTERS also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded. 2 CHRONICLES 16 10 Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a PRISON house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. NEHEMIAH 10 28 And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the PORTERS, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding; 39 For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the PORTERS, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God. NEHEMIAH 11 19 Moreover the PORTERS, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the gates, were an hundred seventy and two. NEHEMIAH 12 25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were PORTERS keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates. 39 And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the PRISON gate. 45 And both the singers and the PORTERS kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son. 47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the PORTERS, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron. NEHEMIAH 13 5 And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the PORTERS; and the offerings of the priests. ESTHER 3 13 And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a PREY. ESTHER 8 11 Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a PREY, ESTHER 9 15 For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the PREY they laid not their hand. 16 But the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the PREY, JOB 4 11 The old lion perisheth for lack of PREY, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.
