JOSHUA 1 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not AFRAID, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. JOSHUA 4 24 That all the people of the earth MIGHT know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye MIGHT fear the LORD your God for ever. JOSHUA 9 24 And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore AFRAID of our lives because of you, and have done this thing. JOSHUA 11 6 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not AFRAID because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire. 20 For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he MIGHT destroy them utterly, and that they MIGHT have no favour, but that he MIGHT destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. JOSHUA 20 9 These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares MIGHT flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation. JOSHUA 22 16 Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye MIGHT rebel this day against the LORD? 24 And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children MIGHT speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with the LORD God of Israel? 27 But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we MIGHT do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD. JOSHUA 24 8 And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye MIGHT possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you. JUDGES 3 2 Only that the generations of the children of Israel MIGHT know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof; JUDGES 5 31 So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his MIGHT. And the land had rest forty years. JUDGES 6 14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy MIGHT, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? JUDGES 7 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and AFRAID, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. JUDGES 9 24 That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal MIGHT come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren. JUDGES 16 30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his MIGHT; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. JUDGES 18 7 Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that MIGHT put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man. RUTH 1 6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she MIGHT return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread. RUTH 3 8 And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was AFRAID, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet. 1 SAMUEL 4 4 So the people sent to Shiloh, that they MIGHT bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God. 7 And the Philistines were AFRAID, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore. 1 SAMUEL 7 7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were AFRAID of the Philistines. 1 SAMUEL 13 10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he MIGHT salute him. 1 SAMUEL 14 14 And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armourbearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were an half acre of land, which a yoke of oxen MIGHT plow. 1 SAMUEL 17 11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly AFRAID. 24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore AFRAID. 1 SAMUEL 18 12 And Saul was AFRAID of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul. 15 Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was AFRAID of him. 27 Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he MIGHT be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife. 29 And Saul was yet the more AFRAID of David; and Saul became David's enemy continually. 1 SAMUEL 20 6 If thy father at all miss me, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he MIGHT run to Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family. 1 SAMUEL 21 1 Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was AFRAID at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? 12 And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore AFRAID of Achish the king of Gath. 1 SAMUEL 23 3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be AFRAID here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines? 1 SAMUEL 28 5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was AFRAID, and his heart greatly trembled. 13 And the king said unto her, Be not AFRAID: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. 20 Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore AFRAID, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night. 1 SAMUEL 31 4 Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore AFRAID. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. 2 SAMUEL 1 14 And David said unto him, How wast thou not AFRAID to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD's anointed? 2 SAMUEL 6 9 And David was AFRAID of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me? 14 And David danced before the LORD with all his MIGHT; and David was girded with a linen ephod. 2 SAMUEL 10 10 And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he MIGHT put them in array against the children of Ammon. 2 SAMUEL 14 15 Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me AFRAID: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid. 2 SAMUEL 15 4 Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause MIGHT come unto me, and I would do him justice! 2 SAMUEL 17 2 And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him AFRAID: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only: 14 And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD MIGHT bring evil upon Absalom. 17 Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by Enrogel; for they MIGHT not be seen to come into the city: and a wench went and told them; and they went and told king David. 2 SAMUEL 22 5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me AFRAID; 41 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I MIGHT destroy them that hate me. 46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be AFRAID out of their close places. --MORE-- |
