JOSHUA 9 11 Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, SAYING, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us. 22 And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, SAYING, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, SAYING, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us? 24 And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore AFRAID of our lives because of you, and have done this thing. And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah. 3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be AFRAID here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines? 19 Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, SAYING, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon? 27 But there came a messenger unto Saul, SAYING, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land. 1 SAMUEL 28 5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was AFRAID, and his heart greatly trembled. 10 And Saul sware to her by the LORD, SAYING, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing. 12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, SAYING, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. 13 And the king said unto her, Be not AFRAID: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. 20 Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore AFRAID, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night. 1 SAMUEL 31 4 Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore AFRAID. SAYING also, Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee. 14 And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul's son, SAYING, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines. 17 And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, SAYING, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you: 18 Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, SAYING, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies. 23 When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, SAYING, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace. 35 And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, SAYING, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down. --MORE-- |
