ISAIAH 38 10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the GATES of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. JEREMIAH 50 16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall FLEE every one to his own land. 28 The voice of them that FLEE and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple. JEREMIAH 51 6 FLEE out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence. 58 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high GATES shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary. JEREMIAH 52 7 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the GATE between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain. LAMENTATIONS 1 4 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her GATES are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness. LAMENTATIONS 2 9 Her GATES are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.
