NUMBERS 35 6 And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may FLEE thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities. 11 Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may FLEE thither, which killeth any person at unawares. 15 These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may FLEE thither. DEUTERONOMY 1 30 The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall FIGHT for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes; 41 Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and FIGHT, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill. 42 And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them. DEUTERONOMY 28 7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and FLEE before thee seven ways. 25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and FLEE seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. JOSHUA 8 5 And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it shall come to pass, when they come out against us, as at the first, that we will FLEE before them, 6 (For they will come out after us) till we have drawn them from the city; for they will say, They FLEE before us, as at the first: therefore we will FLEE before them. 20 And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to FLEE this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers. JOSHUA 9 2 That they gathered themselves together, to FIGHT with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord. JOSHUA 10 25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye FIGHT. JOSHUA 20 3 That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may FLEE thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood. 4 And when he that doth FLEE unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them. 9 These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might FLEE thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation. JUDGES 1 1 Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to FIGHT against them? 3 And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may FIGHT against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him. 9 And afterward the children of Judah went down to FIGHT against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley. JUDGES 6 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. JUDGES 8 1 And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to FIGHT with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply. JUDGES 9 38 Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and FIGHT with them. JUDGES 10 9 Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to FIGHT also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed. 18 And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to FIGHT against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead. JUDGES 11 6 And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may FIGHT with the children of Ammon. 8 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and FIGHT against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead. 9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to FIGHT against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head? 12 And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come against me to FIGHT in my land? 25 And now art thou any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever FIGHT against them, 32 So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to FIGHT against them; and the LORD delivered them into his hands. JUDGES 12 1 And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to FIGHT against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire. 3 And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to FIGHT against me? JUDGES 20 20 And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to FIGHT against them at Gibeah. 32 And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us FLEE, and draw them from the city unto the highways. 1 SAMUEL 4 9 Be strong and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and FIGHT. 1 SAMUEL 8 20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and FIGHT our battles. --MORE-- |
