DEUTERONOMY 3 5 All these cities were fenced with high walls, GATES, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many. DEUTERONOMY 5 5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were AFRAID by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying, 14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy GATES; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. DEUTERONOMY 6 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy GATES. DEUTERONOMY 7 18 Thou shalt not be AFRAID of them: but shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt; 19 The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art AFRAID. DEUTERONOMY 9 19 For I was AFRAID of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to destroy you. But the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also. DEUTERONOMY 11 20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy GATES: DEUTERONOMY 12 12 And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your GATES; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you. 15 Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy GATES, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart. 17 Thou mayest not eat within thy GATES the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand: 18 But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy GATES: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto. 21 If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy GATES whatsoever thy soul lusteth after. DEUTERONOMY 14 21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy GATES, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. 27 And the Levite that is within thy GATES; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee. 28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy GATES: 29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy GATES, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest. DEUTERONOMY 15 7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy GATES in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: 22 Thou shalt eat it within thy GATES: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart. DEUTERONOMY 16 5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy GATES, which the LORD thy God giveth thee: 11 And thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy GATES, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there. 14 And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy GATES. 18 Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy GATES, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment. DEUTERONOMY 17 2 If there be found among you, within any of thy GATES which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant, 5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy GATES, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. 8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy GATES: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose; DEUTERONOMY 18 6 And if a Levite come from any of thy GATES out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which the LORD shall choose; 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be AFRAID of him. DEUTERONOMY 20 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not AFRAID of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. DEUTERONOMY 23 16 He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy GATES, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him. DEUTERONOMY 24 14 Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy GATES: DEUTERONOMY 26 12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy GATES, and be filled; DEUTERONOMY 28 10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be AFRAID of thee. 52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy GATES, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy GATES throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee. 55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy GATES. 57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy GATES. 60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast AFRAID of; and they shall cleave unto thee. DEUTERONOMY 31 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be AFRAID of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 12 Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy GATES, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: JOSHUA 1 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not AFRAID, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. JOSHUA 6 26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the GATES of it. JOSHUA 9 24 And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore AFRAID of our lives because of you, and have done this thing. JOSHUA 11 6 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not AFRAID because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire. JUDGES 5 8 They chose new gods; then was war in the GATES: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? 11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the GATES. JUDGES 7 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and AFRAID, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.
