ISAIAH 41 5 The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were AFRAID, drew near, and came. ISAIAH 43 4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou HAST been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. 22 But thou HAST not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou HAST been weary of me, O Israel. 23 Thou HAST not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither HAST thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense. 24 Thou HAST bought me no sweet cane with money, neither HAST thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou HAST made me to serve with thy sins, thou HAST wearied me with thine iniquities. ISAIAH 44 8 Fear ye not, neither be AFRAID: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. ISAIAH 45 4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou HAST not known me. 5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou HAST not known me: 10 Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What HAST thou brought forth? ISAIAH 47 6 I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient HAST thou very heavily laid thy yoke. 10 For thou HAST trusted in thy wickedness: thou HAST said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou HAST said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me. 12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou HAST laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. 15 Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou HAST laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee. ISAIAH 48 6 Thou HAST heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them. ISAIAH 49 20 The children which thou shalt have, after thou HAST lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell. ISAIAH 51 7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye AFRAID of their revilings. 12 I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be AFRAID of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; 13 And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and HAST feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? 17 Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which HAST drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou HAST drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out. 23 But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou HAST laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over. ISAIAH 57 6 Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them HAST thou poured a drink offering, thou HAST offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these? 7 Upon a lofty and high mountain HAST thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice. 8 Behind the doors also and the posts HAST thou set up thy remembrance: for thou HAST discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou HAST enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it. 10 Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou HAST found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved. 11 And of whom HAST thou been AFRAID or feared, that thou HAST lied, and HAST not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not? ISAIAH 61 10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride ADORNETH herself with her jewels. ISAIAH 62 8 The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou HAST laboured: ISAIAH 63 17 O LORD, why HAST thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance. ISAIAH 64 7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou HAST hid thy face from us, and HAST consumed us, because of our iniquities. JEREMIAH 1 8 Be not AFRAID of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou HAST well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it. JEREMIAH 2 12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly AFRAID, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD. 17 HAST thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou HAST forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way? 18 And now what HAST thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what HAST thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river? 19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou HAST forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts. 23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou HAST done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways; 27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou HAST brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. 28 But where are thy gods that thou HAST made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah. 33 Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore HAST thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways. JEREMIAH 3 1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou HAST played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD. 2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou HAST not been lien with. In the ways HAST thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou HAST polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness. 5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou HAST spoken and done evil things as thou couldest. 6 The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, HAST thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. 13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou HAST transgressed against the LORD thy God, and HAST scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD. JEREMIAH 4 10 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou HAST greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul. 19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou HAST heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war. JEREMIAH 5 3 O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou HAST stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou HAST consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. JEREMIAH 10 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not AFRAID of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. JEREMIAH 12 2 Thou HAST planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins. 3 But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou HAST seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter. 5 If thou HAST run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? --MORE-- |
