DEUTERONOMY 17 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: FOR that is an abomination unto the LORD thy God. 8 If there arise a matter too hard FOR thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose; DEUTERONOMY 18 4 The firstfruit also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the FLEECE of thy sheep, shalt thou give him. 5 FOR the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons FOR ever. 12 FOR all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 14 FOR these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as FOR thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do. DEUTERONOMY 19 2 Thou shalt separate three cities FOR thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it. 3 Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may FLEE thither. 4 And this is the case of the slayer, which shall FLEE thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past; 5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall FLEE unto one of those cities, and live: 7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities FOR thee. 9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more FOR thee, beside these three: 10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee FOR an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee. 11 But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait FOR him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities: 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man FOR any iniquity, or FOR any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established. 21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go FOR life, eye FOR eye, tooth FOR tooth, hand FOR hand, foot FOR foot. DEUTERONOMY 20 1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: FOR the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 4 FOR the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight FOR you against your enemies, to save you. 16 But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee FOR an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: 19 When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: FOR thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (FOR the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege: 20 Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees FOR meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued. DEUTERONOMY 21 5 And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; FOR them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried: 14 And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all FOR money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her. 17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated FOR the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: FOR he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his. 23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (FOR he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee FOR an inheritance. DEUTERONOMY 22 5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: FOR all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. 8 When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement FOR thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence. 20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found FOR the damsel: 26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: FOR as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter: 27 FOR he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her. DEUTERONOMY 23 3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD FOR ever: 6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days FOR ever. 7 Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; FOR he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land. 14 FOR the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee. 18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God FOR any vow: FOR even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God. 21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: FOR the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee. DEUTERONOMY 24 4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; FOR that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee FOR an inheritance. 6 No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: FOR he taketh a man's life to pledge. 15 At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; FOR he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee. 16 The fathers shall not be put to death FOR the children, neither shall the children be put to death FOR the fathers: every man shall be put to death FOR his own sin. 19 When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be FOR the stranger, FOR the fatherless, and FOR the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands. 20 When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be FOR the stranger, FOR the fatherless, and FOR the widow. 21 When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be FOR the stranger, FOR the fatherless, and FOR the widow. DEUTERONOMY 25 11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near FOR to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: 16 FOR all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God. 19 Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee FOR an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it. DEUTERONOMY 26 1 And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee FOR an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein; 3 And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD sware unto our fathers FOR to give us. 14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof FOR any unclean use, nor given ought thereof FOR the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me. DEUTERONOMY 28 7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and FLEE before thee seven ways. 20 The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto FOR to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me. 25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and FLEE seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. 32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing FOR them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand. 34 So that thou shalt be mad FOR the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. 38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; FOR the locust shall consume it. 39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; FOR the worms shall eat them. 40 Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; FOR thine olive shall cast his fruit. 41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; FOR they shall go into captivity. 46 And they shall be upon thee FOR a sign and FOR a wonder, and upon thy seed FOR ever. 47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, FOR the abundance of all things; 56 The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground FOR delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter, 57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: FOR she shall eat them FOR want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates. 62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven FOR multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God. 67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! FOR the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and FOR the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. 68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies FOR bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you. --MORE-- |
