Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to FLEE to Jerusalem. 1 KINGS 16 34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the GATES thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun. 2 KINGS 9 3 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and FLEE, and tarry not. 2 KINGS 23 8 And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba, and brake down the high places of the GATES that were in the entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man's left hand at the gate of the city. 1 CHRONICLES 9 19 And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the GATES of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry. 22 All these which were chosen to be porters in the GATES were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office. 23 So they and their children had the oversight of the GATES of the house of the LORD, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards. 1 CHRONICLES 22 3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the GATES, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight; 2 CHRONICLES 8 3 And Solomon went to HAMATHZOBAH, and prevailed against it. 5 Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, GATES, and bars; 2 CHRONICLES 10 18 Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to FLEE to Jerusalem. 2 CHRONICLES 14 7 Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, GATES, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered. 2 CHRONICLES 23 19 And he set the porters at the GATES of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in. 2 CHRONICLES 31 2 And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the GATES of the tents of the LORD. NEHEMIAH 1 3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the GATES thereof are burned with fire. NEHEMIAH 2 3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the GATES thereof are consumed with fire? 8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the GATES of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. 13 And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the GATES thereof were consumed with fire. 17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the GATES thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. NEHEMIAH 6 1 Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the GATES;) 11 And I said, Should such a man as I FLEE? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in. NEHEMIAH 7 3 And I said unto them, Let not the GATES of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house. NEHEMIAH 13 19 And it came to pass, that when the GATES of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the GATES should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the GATES, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day. 22 And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the GATES, to sanctify the sabbath day.
