ACTS 25 9 But Festus, willing to do the Jews A pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me? 14 And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul's cause unto the king, saying, There is A certain man left in bonds by Felix: 27 For it seemeth to me unreasonable to send A prisoner, and not withal to signify the crimes laid against him. ACTS 26 2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I AM accused of the Jews: 5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived A Pharisee. 6 And now I stand and AM judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers: 7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I AM accused of the Jews. 8 Why should it be thought A thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead? 13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way A light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. 14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard A voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I AM Jesus whom thou persecutest. 16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee A minister and A witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with A loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. 25 But he said, I AM not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. 26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I AM persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in A corner. 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be A Christian. 29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I AM, except these bonds. ACTS 27 1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, A centurion of Augustus' band. 2 And entering into A ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, A Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us. 5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, A city of Lycia. 6 And there the centurion found A ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein. 8 And, hardly passing it, came unto A place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea. 14 But not long after there arose against it A tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. 16 And running under A certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat: 18 And we being exceedingly tossed with A tempest, the next day they lightened the ship; 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I AM, and whom I serve, 26 Howbeit we must be cast upon A certain island. 28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone A little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms. 39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered A certain creek with A shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship. 41 And falling into A place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves. ACTS 28 2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled A fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. 3 And when Paul had gathered A bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came A viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. 4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is A murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. 6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked A great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was A god. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of A fever and of A bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. 11 And after three months we departed in A ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux. 13 And from thence we fetched A compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli: 16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with A soldier that kept him. 20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I AM bound with this chain. 23 And when they had appointed him A day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. ROMANS 1 1 Paul, A servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, 10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have A prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. 14 I AM debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. 15 So, as much as in me is, I AM ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16 For I AM not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 25 Who changed the truth of God into A lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to A reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; ROMANS 2 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are A law unto themselves: 17 Behold, thou art called A Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, 19 And art confident that thou thyself art A guide of the blind, A light of them which are in darkness, 20 An instructor of the foolish, A teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. 21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest A man should not steal, dost thou steal? 22 Thou that sayest A man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? 25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be A breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. 28 For he is not A Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is A Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. --MORE-- |
