JEREMIAH 44 3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other GODS, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers. 5 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other GODS. 8 In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other GODS in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth? 15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other GODS, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying, JEREMIAH 46 23 They shall cut down her FOREST, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable. 25 The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their GODS, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him: JEREMIAH 48 35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his GODS. EZEKIEL 15 2 Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the FOREST? 6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the FOREST, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. DANIEL 3 12 There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy GODS, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. 14 Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my GODS, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy GODS, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. DANIEL 4 8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy GODS: and before him I told the dream, saying, 9 O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy GODS is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof. 18 This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy GODS is in thee. DANIEL 5 4 They drank wine, and praised the GODS of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. 11 There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy GODS; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the GODS, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers; 14 I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the GODS is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee. 23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the GODS of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified: DANIEL 11 8 And shall also carry captives into Egypt their GODS, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north. 36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of GODS, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. HOSEA 2 12 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a FOREST, and the beasts of the field shall eat them. HOSEA 3 1 Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other GODS, and love flagons of wine. HOSEA 14 3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our GODS: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
