JOSHUA 7 9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy GREAT name? 26 And they raised over him a GREAT heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day. JOSHUA 9 1 And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the GREAT sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof; JOSHUA 10 2 That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a GREAT city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty. 10 And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a GREAT slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah. 11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down GREAT stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword. 18 And Joshua said, Roll GREAT stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them: 20 And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very GREAT slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities. 27 And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid GREAT stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day. JOSHUA 11 8 And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto GREAT Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining. JUDGES 6 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. JUDGES 11 33 And he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very GREAT slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel. JUDGES 12 2 And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at GREAT strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands. JUDGES 15 8 And he smote them hip and thigh with a GREAT slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam. 18 And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this GREAT deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised? And they understood that the ark of the LORD was come into the camp. 10 And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very GREAT slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen. 17 And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a GREAT slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken. 1 SAMUEL 5 9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very GREAT destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and GREAT, and they had emerods in their secret parts. 1 SAMUEL 6 9 And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Bethshemesh, then he hath done us this GREAT evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us: it was a chance that happened to us. 14 And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Bethshemite, and stood there, where there was a GREAT stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the LORD. 15 And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD, and the coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the GREAT stone: and the men of Bethshemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the LORD. 18 And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the GREAT stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Bethshemite. 19 And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a GREAT slaughter. --MORE-- |
