DEUTERONOMY 26 12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy GATES, and be filled; DEUTERONOMY 28 52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy GATES, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy GATES throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee. 55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy GATES. 57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy GATES. DEUTERONOMY 31 12 Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy GATES, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: JOSHUA 6 26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the GATES of it. JUDGES 5 8 They chose new gods; then was war in the GATES: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? 11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the GATES. JUDGES 6 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. 1 SAMUEL 17 52 And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the GATES of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron. 1 SAMUEL 23 7 And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath GATES and bars. 2 SAMUEL 18 24 And David sat between the two GATES: and the watchman went up to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone. 2 SAMUEL 22 2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my FORTRESS, and my deliverer; 1 KINGS 16 34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the GATES thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun. 2 KINGS 23 8 And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba, and brake down the high places of the GATES that were in the entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man's left hand at the gate of the city. 1 CHRONICLES 9 19 And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the GATES of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry. 22 All these which were chosen to be porters in the GATES were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office. 23 So they and their children had the oversight of the GATES of the house of the LORD, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards. 1 CHRONICLES 22 3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the GATES, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight; 2 CHRONICLES 8 5 Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, GATES, and bars; 2 CHRONICLES 14 7 Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, GATES, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered. 2 CHRONICLES 23 19 And he set the porters at the GATES of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in. 2 CHRONICLES 31 2 And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the GATES of the tents of the LORD. NEHEMIAH 1 3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the GATES thereof are burned with fire. NEHEMIAH 2 3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the GATES thereof are consumed with fire? 8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the GATES of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. 13 And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the GATES thereof were consumed with fire. 17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the GATES thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. NEHEMIAH 6 1 Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the GATES;) NEHEMIAH 7 3 And I said unto them, Let not the GATES of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house. NEHEMIAH 11 19 Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the GATES, were an hundred seventy and two. NEHEMIAH 12 25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the GATES. 30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the GATES, and the wall. NEHEMIAH 13 19 And it came to pass, that when the GATES of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the GATES should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the GATES, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day. 22 And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the GATES, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy. JOB 31 20 If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the FLEECE of my sheep; JOB 38 17 Have the GATES of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death? PSALM 9 13 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the GATES of death: 14 That I may shew forth all thy praise in the GATES of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation. PSALM 24 7 Lift up your heads, O ye GATES; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 9 Lift up your heads, O ye GATES; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. PSALM 31 3 For thou art my rock and my FORTRESS; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. PSALM 71 3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my FORTRESS. PSALM 87 2 The LORD loveth the GATES of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. PSALM 91 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my FORTRESS: my God; in him will I trust. PSALM 100 4 Enter into his GATES with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. --MORE-- |
