ISAIAH 16 2 For it shall be, that, as A wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon. 4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou A covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land. ISAIAH 17 1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being A city, and it shall be A ruinous heap. 7 At that day shall A man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel. 9 In that day shall his strong cities be as A forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation. 11 In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be A heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow. 12 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make A noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make A rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! 13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall FLEE far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like A rolling thing before the whirlwind. ISAIAH 18 2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to A nation scattered and peeled, to A people terrible from their beginning hitherto; A nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled! 3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth A trumpet, hear ye. 4 For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like A clear heat upon herbs, and like A cloud of dew in the heat of harvest. 7 In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of A people scattered and peeled, and from A people terrible from their beginning hitherto; A nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion. ISAIAH 19 1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon A swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it. 4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of A cruel lord; and A fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts. 14 The LORD hath mingled A perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as A drunken man staggereth in his vomit. 17 And the land of Judah shall be A terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it. 19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and A pillar at the border thereof to the LORD. 20 And it shall be for A sign and for A witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them A saviour, and A great one, and he shall deliver them. 21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow A vow unto the LORD, and perform it. 23 In that day shall there be A highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even A blessing in the midst of the land: ISAIAH 20 3 And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for A sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia; 6 And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we FLEE for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape? ISAIAH 21 1 The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from A terrible land. 2 A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease. 3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of A woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it. 6 For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Go, set A watchman, let him declare what he seeth. 7 And he saw A chariot with A couple of horsemen, A chariot of asses, and A chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed: 8 And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights: 9 And, behold, here cometh A chariot of men, with A couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. 16 For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Within A year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail: ISAIAH 22 2 Thou that art full of stirs, A tumultuous city, joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle. 5 For it is A day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains. 11 Ye made also A ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago. 16 What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out A sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out A sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in A rock? 17 Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with A mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee. 18 He will surely violently turn and toss thee like A ball into A large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house. 21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be A father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. 23 And I will fasten him as A nail in A sure place; and he shall be for A glorious throne to his father's house. ISAIAH 23 3 And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is A mart of nations. 10 Pass through thy land as A river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength. 11 He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given A commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof. ISAIAH 24 9 They shall not drink wine with A song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it. 11 There is A crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone. 20 The earth shall reel to and fro like A drunkard, and shall be removed like A cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. ISAIAH 25 2 For thou hast made of A city an heap; of A defenced city A ruin: A palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. 4 For thou hast been A strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as A storm against the wall. 5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in A dry place; even the heat with the shadow of A cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low. 6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people A feast of fat things, A feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. ISAIAH 26 1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have A strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. 16 LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out A prayer when thy chastening was upon them. 17 Like as A woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD. 20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for A little moment, until the indignation be overpast. --MORE-- |
