LAMENTATIONS 2 1 How hath the LORD covered the daughter of ZION with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger! 4 He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of ZION: he poured out his fury like fire. 6 And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in ZION, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest. 8 The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of ZION: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together. 10 The elders of the daughter of ZION sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground. 13 What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of ZION? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee? 18 Their heart cried unto the LORD, O wall of the daughter of ZION, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease. LAMENTATIONS 4 2 The precious sons of ZION, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter! 11 The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in ZION, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof. 22 The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of ZION; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins. LAMENTATIONS 5 11 They ravished the women in ZION, and the maids in the cities of Judah. 18 Because of the mountain of ZION, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it. EZEKIEL 2 6 And thou, son of man, be not AFRAID of them, neither be AFRAID of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not AFRAID of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. EZEKIEL 10 21 Every one had four faces APIECE, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. EZEKIEL 27 35 All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore AFRAID, they shall be troubled in their countenance. EZEKIEL 30 9 In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians AFRAID, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, it cometh. EZEKIEL 32 10 Yea, I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly AFRAID for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall. EZEKIEL 34 28 And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them AFRAID. EZEKIEL 39 26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them AFRAID. EZEKIEL 41 24 And the doors had two leaves APIECE, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door. JOEL 2 1 Blow ye the trumpet in ZION, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 15 Blow the trumpet in ZION, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 22 Be not AFRAID, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. 23 Be glad then, ye children of ZION, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount ZION and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. JOEL 3 16 The LORD also shall roar out of ZION, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. 17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in ZION, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more. 21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in ZION. AMOS 1 2 And he said, The LORD will roar from ZION, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither. AMOS 3 6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be AFRAID? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? AMOS 6 1 Woe to them that are at ease in ZION, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came! OBADIAH 1 17 But upon mount ZION shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. 21 And saviours shall come up on mount ZION to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's. JONAH 1 5 Then the mariners were AFRAID, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep. 10 Then were the men exceedingly AFRAID, and said unto him. Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them. MICAH 1 13 O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of ZION: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee. MICAH 3 10 They build up ZION with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. 12 Therefore shall ZION for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. MICAH 4 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of ZION, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them AFRAID: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it. 7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount ZION from henceforth, even for ever. 8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of ZION, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem. 10 Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of ZION, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies. 11 Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon ZION. 13 Arise and thresh, O daughter of ZION: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth. MICAH 7 17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be AFRAID of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee. NAHUM 2 11 Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them AFRAID? HABAKKUK 2 17 For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts, which made them AFRAID, because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein. --MORE-- |
