PSALM 109 19 Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a GIRDLE wherewith he is girded continually. PSALM 112 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is FIXED, trusting in the LORD. ISAIAH 3 24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a GIRDLE a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty. ISAIAH 5 27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the GIRDLE of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken: ISAIAH 11 5 And righteousness shall be the GIRDLE of his loins, and faithfulness the GIRDLE of his reins. ISAIAH 22 21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy GIRDLE, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. ISAIAH 34 13 And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the FORTRESSES thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls. JEREMIAH 13 1 Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen GIRDLE, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water. 2 So I got a GIRDLE according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins. 4 Take the GIRDLE that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock. 6 And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the GIRDLE from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there. 7 Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the GIRDLE from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the GIRDLE was marred, it was profitable for nothing. 10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this GIRDLE, which is good for nothing. 11 For as the GIRDLE cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear. HOSEA 10 14 Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy FORTRESSES shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Betharbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children. MATTHEW 3 4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern GIRDLE about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. MARK 1 6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a GIRDLE of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; LUKE 16 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf FIXED: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. ACTS 21 11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's GIRDLE, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this GIRDLE, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. REVELATION 1 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden GIRDLE. --END-- |
