PROVERBS 16 14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a WISE man will pacify it. 21 The WISE in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. 23 The heart of the WISE teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. PROVERBS 17 2 A WISE servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren. 10 A reproof entereth more into a WISE man than an hundred stripes into a fool. 28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted WISE: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. PROVERBS 18 15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the WISE seeketh knowledge. PROVERBS 19 20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be WISE in thy latter end. ECCLESIASTES 2 14 The WISE man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all. 15 Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more WISE? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity. 16 For there is no remembrance of the WISE more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the WISE man? as the fool. 19 And who knoweth whether he shall be a WISE man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself WISE under the sun. This is also vanity. ECCLESIASTES 4 13 Better is a poor and a WISE child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished. ECCLESIASTES 6 8 For what hath the WISE more than the fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living? ECCLESIASTES 7 4 The heart of the WISE is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. 5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the WISE, than for a man to hear the song of fools. 7 Surely oppression maketh a WISE man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart. 16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over WISE: why shouldest thou destroy thyself ? 19 Wisdom strengtheneth the WISE more than ten mighty men which are in the city. 23 All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be WISE; but it was far from me. ECCLESIASTES 8 1 Who is as the WISE man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. 5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a WISE man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. 17 Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea farther; though a WISE man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. ECCLESIASTES 9 1 For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the WISE, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. 11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the WISE, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. 15 Now there was found in it a poor WISE man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. 17 The words of WISE men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools. --MORE-- |
