2 CHRONICLES 6 4 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my FATHER David, saying, 7 Now it was in the heart of David my FATHER to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 8 But the LORD said to David my FATHER, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart: 10 The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my FATHER, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 15 Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my FATHER that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day. 16 Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my FATHER that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me. 2 CHRONICLES 7 17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy FATHER walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments; 18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy FATHER, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel. 2 CHRONICLES 8 14 And he appointed, according to the order of David his FATHER, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded. 2 CHRONICLES 9 31 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his FATHER: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead. 2 CHRONICLES 10 4 Thy FATHER made our yoke grievous: now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy FATHER, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee. 6 And king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his FATHER while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye me to return answer to this people? 9 And he said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this people, which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy FATHER did put upon us? 10 And the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy FATHER made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my FATHER's loins. 11 For whereas my FATHER put a heavy yoke upon you, I will put more to your yoke: my FATHER chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. 14 And answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My FATHER made your yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my FATHER chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. 2 CHRONICLES 15 18 And he brought into the house of God the things that his FATHER had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels. 2 CHRONICLES 16 3 There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my FATHER and thy FATHER: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me. 2 CHRONICLES 17 2 And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his FATHER had taken. 3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his FATHER David, and sought not unto Baalim; 4 But sought to the Lord God of his FATHER, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel. 2 CHRONICLES 20 15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not AFRAID nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. 32 And he walked in the way of Asa his FATHER, and departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of the LORD. 2 CHRONICLES 21 3 And their FATHER gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn. 4 Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his FATHER, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel. 12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy FATHER, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy FATHER, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah, 13 But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy FATHER's house, which were better than thyself: 2 CHRONICLES 22 4 Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his FATHER to his destruction. 2 CHRONICLES 24 22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his FATHER had done to him, but slew his son. NEHEMIAH 2 2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore AFRAID, NEHEMIAH 4 14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye AFRAID of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. NEHEMIAH 6 9 For they all made us AFRAID, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands. 13 Therefore was he hired, that I should be AFRAID, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me.
