JONAH 3
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from HIS throne, and he laid HIS robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and HIS nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from HIS evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from HIS fierce anger, that we perish not?
JONAH 4
6 And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over HIS head, to deliver him from HIS grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd.
MICAH 1
2 Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the LORD from HIS holy temple.
3 For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of HIS place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.
11 Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel; he shall receive of you HIS standing.
MICAH 2
2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and HIS house, even a man and HIS heritage.
7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these HIS doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
MICAH 3
4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide HIS face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob HIS transgression, and to Israel HIS sin.
MICAH 4
2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of HIS ways, and we will walk in HIS paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 But they shall sit every man under HIS vine and under HIS fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
5 For all people will walk every one in the name of HIS god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.
12 But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they HIS counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.
MICAH 5
3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of HIS brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD HIS God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
MICAH 6
2 Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with HIS people, and he will plead with Israel.
MICAH 7
2 The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man HIS brother with a net.
3 That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth HIS mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.
6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of HIS own house.
9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold HIS righteousness.
18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of HIS heritage? he retaineth not HIS anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
NAHUM 1
2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on HIS adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for HIS enemies.
3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath HIS way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of HIS feet.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at HIS presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before HIS indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of HIS anger? HIS fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue HIS enemies.
13 For now will I break HIS yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
NAHUM 2
3 The shield of HIS mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of HIS preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
5 He shall recount HIS worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.
12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for HIS whelps, and strangled for HIS lionesses, and filled HIS holes with prey, and HIS dens with ravin.
HABAKKUK 1
11 Then shall HIS mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this HIS power unto HIS god.
HABAKKUK 2
4 Behold, HIS soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by HIS faith.
5 Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth HIS desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
6 Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not HIS! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
9 Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to HIS house, that he may set HIS nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
15 Woe unto him that giveth HIS neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!
18 What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of HIS work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
20 But the LORD is in HIS holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
HABAKKUK 3
3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. HIS glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of HIS praise.
4 And HIS brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of HIS hand: and there was the hiding of HIS power.
5 Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at HIS feet.
6 He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: HIS ways are everlasting.
10 The mountains saw thee, and they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered HIS voice, and lifted up HIS hands on high.
14 Thou didst strike through with HIS staves the head of HIS villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.
16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with HIS troops.
ZEPHANIAH 1
7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid HIS guests.
18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of HIS jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
