1 SAMUEL 9 3 And the asses of Kish Saul's FATHER were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses. 5 And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my FATHER leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us. 20 And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day. 2 SAMUEL 3 7 And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ishbosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my FATHER's concubine? 8 Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy FATHER, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman? 29 Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his FATHER's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread. 2 SAMUEL 6 21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy FATHER, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. 2 SAMUEL 7 14 I will be his FATHER, and he shall be my son. And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my FATHER. 19 And again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy FATHER's presence, so will I be in thy presence. 21 And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy FATHER's concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy FATHER: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong. 22 So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his FATHER's concubines in the sight of all Israel. 2 SAMUEL 17 8 For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy FATHER and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy FATHER is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people. 10 And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy FATHER is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men. 23 And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his FATHER. --MORE-- |
